With the Grand Opening of Galaxy’s Edge just around the corner, many people are working to prepare for that day and visiting in the coming weeks afterwards. We were able to visit Galaxy’s Edge twice before the Grand Opening, and we’ll be among the insane crowd that will be there on opening day, so we wanted to put together a post of what you might need and how to prepare for your visit when you go to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in the coming weeks.
If you are an annual Passholder, DVC Member or local resident at Walt Disney World, there is a discount card you are eligible for that can help save you money at Disney restaurants during each of your many trips to Disney World throughout the year. This discount card is called Tables in Wonderland and is offered by Disney through a third-party company. We have used this card as much as possible while living in the Walt Disney World Resorts and had a lot of questions come in about it, so we’re here to answer them.
The NBA Experience at Disney Springs across from House of Blues and near Cirque Du Soleil. It is the newest activity center for families to have fun, especially on rainy days. The two-story building features everything basketball you can imagine: shooting, dribbling, jump shots, referee calls, and more. If you’re a basketball fan or know someone who is, you’ll want to keep reading.
The Animation Experience opened this past July in Rafiki’s Planet Watch in Animal Kingdom. This new experience is a place for guests to learn how to draw Disney characters from a cast member. This is a fun new experience to bring guests to Animal Kingdom and have another indoor activity for those rainy days.
Toledo Restaurant is located on the 16th floor of the new Gran Destino Tower at Coronado Springs Resort. It’s open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. every night, and we were able to go for dinner on opening night and try some of the food options from their new menu, and we were very impressed with almost everything we ordered. The restaurant is beautiful, and we recommend checking it out if you’re staying at Coronado Springs any time soon.
Three Bridges restaurant at Coronado Springs Resort is literally a restaurant in the middle of the lake at the resort that has three bridges leading to it. It has opened up pathways for resort guests to easily get from one side to the other while also adding a unique dining experience for dinner. Being able to look over and see the water while you’re eating was really neat, and definitely a different feel from all the other Disney restaurants we’ve been to.
Gran Destino Tower is now the main entrance for Coronado Springs Resort and is where every guest checks in no matter what part of the resort you are staying in. The tower has 16 floors and is the newest addition to the Walt Disney World Resorts. It was added as another resort for conferences and is the cheapest option for anyone looking to host a conference at WDW. The theming at Gran Destino Tower was designed after the Destino short film that was created by Walt Disney and Salvador Dali. The beautiful decor everywhere displays bright colors, beautiful artwork, metal work, curved lines and edges, and Spanish influence, all with Hidden Mickeys incorporated as well.
