The Animation Experience opened this past July in Rafiki’s Planet Watch in Animal Kingdom. This new experience is a place for guests to learn how to draw Disney characters from a cast member. This is a fun new experience to bring guests to Animal Kingdom and have another indoor activity for those rainy days.
Moonlight Magic is a special after-hours event for Disney Vacation Club Members that is completely free. It has limited availability, so members are sent an email when registration will open, and then it’s first come, first serve. It can be difficult to get in as Moonlight Magic events are becoming more and more popular. There is an event for each of the four Walt Disney World parks twice a year, the second always being held a week after the first for the same park.
Toledo Restaurant is located on the 16th floor of the new Gran Destino Tower at Coronado Springs Resort. It’s open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. every night, and we were able to go for dinner on opening night and try some of the food options from their new menu, and we were very impressed with almost everything we ordered. The restaurant is beautiful, and we recommend checking it out if you’re staying at Coronado Springs any time soon.
Three Bridges restaurant at Coronado Springs Resort is literally a restaurant in the middle of the lake at the resort that has three bridges leading to it. It has opened up pathways for resort guests to easily get from one side to the other while also adding a unique dining experience for dinner. Being able to look over and see the water while you’re eating was really neat, and definitely a different feel from all the other Disney restaurants we’ve been to.
One of the newest additions for kids at one of the Walt Disney World Resorts is Captain Hook’s Pirate Crew at Disney’s Beach Club Resort. In just under a month, the recreation area at Beach Club was turned into a pirate cove with hidden treasure, a scavenger hunt complete with escape-room type clues, snacks and dinner, a movie area, crafts, a boat ride, and lots of games.
Gran Destino Tower is now the main entrance for Coronado Springs Resort and is where every guest checks in no matter what part of the resort you are staying in. The tower has 16 floors and is the newest addition to the Walt Disney World Resorts. It was added as another resort for conferences and is the cheapest option for anyone looking to host a conference at WDW. The theming at Gran Destino Tower was designed after the Destino short film that was created by Walt Disney and Salvador Dali. The beautiful decor everywhere displays bright colors, beautiful artwork, metal work, curved lines and edges, and Spanish influence, all with Hidden Mickeys incorporated as well.
